DEVELOP YOUR BUSINESS MIND

DEVELOP YOUR BUSINESS MIND

One day I went to Bulawayo to top up my peanut butter consignment for resale. I normally order from Harare but had heard there were also suppliers in Bulawayo. I went to one of the manufacturers and was met with this lady whom I assumed was the sales lady. In our conversation, we debated about their prices and other things. Then I pointed that they had to move with time and have Point of Sale Machines for convenience. Then she said she only deals with cash and also she was very much covered because she dealt with vendors who always have cash to buy after their sales every day. I was shocked by her adamant position. I imagined how many customers they lose by insisting on cash and relying only on vendors. I told her that I am not a vendor but a business person who actually buy in bulk. After I saw her insistence on the vendor issue I then touched another issue of spreading their market. Then I asked if they supply my area Hwange. She said, ‘No we don’t have Hwange on our list but Victoria Falls, yes’ It shocked me that she didn’t make any effort make me as a market point of contact considering that Hwange is just 100 from Victoria. In fact they pass through Hwange before Victoria Falls for their supplies.

From this I learnt why most businesses fail;
1. The need to maintain the status quo and traditional way of doing things.
2. Limited mentality and limited way of see things, as in we supply vendors only.
3. Lack of business growth and expansion plans.
4. Poor customer service, courtesy, care and communication.
5. Wrong people for our front office.
6. Closing our ears to suggestions by customers.
7. Lack of creativity.
8. Lack of competitive advantage
9. Lack of technological acumen. Business should harness the technology to their advantage.
10. Lack of flexibility

Today in your business develop your business mentality. The way you see your business is the way it will grow. See you at the profits arena.

LEADERSHIP PROCESS EFFECTIVENESS

*LEADERSHIP PROCESS EFFECTIVENESS*
Mark  3:14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,  3:15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

*Appointment*: Great leaders know and understand the principle of appointment. They understand that a leader needs a leader. Sometime you need to be identified for leadership functionality. I like it when it said ordained. It means separated for a special task. It was Jesus who appointed them. It is painful that these days many leaders are appointing themselves. Self appointment leaders don't last long.

*Teamwork*: Jesus understood the principle of team work. He didn't appoint Peter only but 12 apostles. In leadership you need other leaders or your team. Many organisations fail because of trying to do it alone. Everything is with the chief leader. I call it briefcase leadership.

*Governance*: Twelve is the number of governance especially spiritual governance. We should understand that leadership is spiritual and effective governance cannot rule out the hand of God. Many organisations start well but try to leave out God in the equation. Let's go back to the Chief Governor our maker, the originator of leadership.

*Naming of a leader*: Other versions say that the twelve were named or called apostles. It was a name defined by Jesus. When God calls you into leadership,  what does he name or call you. Many people masquerade as apostles, prophets, Bishops,  pastors, CEOs,  Emeritus, Giant Killer, Demon Destroyer etc. The question remains; what did God name you when he appointed you into leadership?

*Relationship*: The disciples were to accompany Jesus, they were to be with Him. It signifies relationship. A leader must be related to the one in authority for effective leadership. Many leaders operate in isolation of the one who appointed them. Many spiritual sons lie that they are under their spiritual father when not. Many leaders are leading without Him. Many leaders are rebellious to the system that appointed them.

*Assignment*: The disciples were given an assignment. They had to know it. The assignment was actually to duplicate and grow the ministry of Jesus. They carried the power of being send. They were to preach, do, healings and deliverance. How often do we digress from the sending authority and the assignment? Do you understand your assignment? Don't try to do another person's assignment. Do yours and you will be an effective leader.

7 REASONS WHY PEOPLE SLEEP IN CHURCH

7 REASONS WHY PEOPLE SLEEP IN CHURCH

In my years as a believer and a minister of the word, I have seen many people sleeping in church. In these years, I have also made it a point that I do not sleep in church. I am very much inspired by the church life of Apostle Ezekiel Guti. In a conference which he may not be actively participating, you see him wide awake and actively listening to the proceedings of the conference. At that age (94) it is very much inspirational. I have seen that many people sleep in church, especially during the session of preaching of the Word of God. The following reasons why people sleep in church can help you:
·        Lack of discipline and concentration: church is serious business which needs concentration and discipline.
·         The PREACHER: It may be surprising. Yes some preachers are not appealing especially in their presentation. Some preachers don’t preach the Word. They put people off and people switch off.
·         Spiritual attacks: Many believers are not aware that the devil knows that if we get the word we will be strong. He makes sure you are sleepy in church. Have you ever observed that sometimes after the church, the sleepy feeling goes? That’s the devil.
·         Lack of preparedness: Sometimes we come to church hurriedly. We are disorganized. We are not fresh. As soon as we get in the church auditorium we feel sleepy. Church need to be prepared for.
·         Lack of expectancy: We should come to church with expectation. We must expect God to move, we must expect new things, we must expect healing and so on. If you just come to church without expectation, you don’t look forward to it. Some are just forced to come to church.
·         Communicating something: Some can sleep in church as a sign of boycott or disinterest of what will be going on. For example it could be giving time; someone may sleep so that it can pass. Therefore, some sleep as a communicating gesture.
·    Sickness and age: Some sleep in church because they are sick or they are in old age. However in my time and experience in ministry I have also seen that old age influence these can be suppressed. I say so, seeing the life of Apostle Ezekiel Guti.

ARE YOU BORN AGAIN?

ARE YOU BORN AGAIN?

Jesus replied, Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born again... You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You be must be born again.’~ John 3:3,7

This is a touching scripture on being born again or repentance. Jesus presents us with a discourse which shows that some people can be surprised that they have to be born again. Christian life starts by repentance. You can’t jump this stage even if you know scriptures or you have a position in church. First things first.

Salvation is all about being born again first. Salvation is paramount to the life of a Christian. Being born again speaks of newness of life, starting again, changing of life. We are made anew in Christ Jesus (2 Cor 5:17). It’s regeneration. It is dangerous to think that salvation is all about joining a church or ministry. Being born in a Christian family doesn’t automatically make one a Christian until a decision to be born again is made (Rom 10:9-10).

As church leaders, we should make sure that people are born again, not just fill halls with people. We should make sure that Jesus fills their hearts starting with ourselves leaders. Many people are in churches but outside the Kingdom. I call them Churchians instead of Christians. There is no regeneration experience. Being born again means Jesus in is me. It is painful to see that many times we have developed ‘events Christians’ that are only after braii fellowships, conferences, partnership seminars and never committed to the life of Christ. We can’t reduce the church to that level. Salvation is a spiritual process to do with the transformation of the heart of man. It is a process of being in right standing with God.

Today ask yourself, ‘Am I born again? Is Christ the Lord in my life? Am I in the kingdom?’                  I also ask you, Are you born again?

If you have not yet received Jesus Christ pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge and admit that I am a sinner. You died for my sins. I open my heart today. Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Be the Lord and Saviour in my life. I will follow you all the days of my life. I thank you for making me your child. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Be blessed and start a new life to follow Jesus. Find a Bible believing church to receive teaching and grow in Him.

LEADERSHIP CONTROL

LEADERSHIP CONTROL

As a leader we must understand the control dimension. The word control speaks of being in charge, run, have power over, rule or influence. However the control dimension comes in various modes. These modes also reflect what kind of a leader are you. The way you are going to be successful in leadership is also determined by how you are going to handle these control dimensions. Below are the leadership control dimensions, leaders can relate to:
1.      Leadership In Control: These leaders are able to control and influence their followers. The followers are easily related to the leader. Such leaders are charismatic and have certain type of gifting which make people easily follow them.
2.      Leaders Under Control: These are leaders who though they are leaders they are able to submit to authority above them. Many leaders are freelance and not under control. Whom are you submitting to in your leadership?
3.      Leadership Self Control: These leaders have inner strength which can make them to survive even no one is watching. They have character base which comes from self enablement or self-initiative. As a leader there are many moments which will call for your self control.
4.      Leadership Remote control: these leaders are not hands on. They are not involved in the activities they try to control. However they control followers even from afar. This is a dangerous control dimension.
5.      Leadership Over Control: These leaders over control their followers. The followers don’t have a say in the organization. These are dictatorial leaders. They are full of threats and intimidation.
6.      Leadership Out-of Control: These are wayward leaders. They can’t be told anything. They are rigid and not flexible. They can even kill in the name of leadership. Never be out of control.

Affirmation
·         I am a great leader.
·         I am an effective leader
·         I am an influential leader.

KINGDOM SUCCESS MENTALITY

KINGDOM SUCCESS MENTALITY

…..and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody ~1 Thes 4:11-12

Success needs a particular mentality. Paul here is addressing people who had become so idle and were just waiting for the return of Jesus Christ. We need to follow this teaching of a great man of God if we want to be successful. It is a great eye opener.
1.      Lead a quiet life: Here Paul is addressing a critical issue. We need to lead a quiet life. This is a life of stability and peace. It is a personal life which does not seek to disturb the life of others. Another concept being addressed here is the issue of the spirit of show off. If you want success never let your life to be too talkative. Don’t try to show that you have made it. Be quiet and let the people or your success talk.
2.      Mind your own business: Many idle and lazy people seek to be into other people’s lives. They poke their noses into other people’s lives. They go around gossiping and seeing other people’s mistakes. They forget that they also have issues. Mind your own business please. Don’t have divided effort and focus by minding other people’s business leaving behind your life business.
3.      Work with your own hands: It should be the mentality of every successful person to make sure he or she is industrious and diligent. Success is not for lazy people. Work hard and work smart.
4.      Win the respect of outsiders: Your life should be a platform of respect of others not manipulating them. How many people respect you because of your life? Are people admiring your life? Success is useless if people can’t learn from you. In this context outsiders meant non-Christians. Are outside yearning to be Christians because of our life.
5.      Independent: On the climax of success is an element of independence. Many of our journeys to success are hindered by donor syndrome. When you become too dependent on someone for your elevation, you can end up being a slave of that person. We are masters of our own destinies.

KEYS TO OVERCOME OFFENCES

This lecture is based on the teaching by Apostle Prof Ezekiel Guti in the books: The Key To Overcome Offences and Respect That Brings Godliness

Many people cannot function properly in their calling because of wounds and hurts that offenses have caused in their lives. (Apostle EH Guti pg 3)

What is an offence?

Offend comes from the Greek word skandalon mean to trap. Many times those who are offended don’t know that they are in the trap of the devil.

Reality of offences

As long we are on this earth we will encounter offenses (Luke 17, Mk 9:42). You can’t avoid the offenses but you can by your attitude.

Personalities in offences
·         The offender: this is the initiator of the offense
·         The offended: this the person to whom the offense has been administered
Types of offenders
·         Deliberate offenders: These just like to offend others
·         Flexible offenders: when faced with a need to rectify offences they are forthcoming.
·         Rigid offenders: These will never change and are adamant because they think they are right.
Types of The Offended
·         Genuinely offended: These people are genuinely and unjustly offended.
·         Pretenders: They pretended to have been offended when they are not.
·         Those who think have been offended when they are not.
Manifestation or Effects of Offences

A brother who is offended is hard to win- Prov 18:9

  • Hurt and bitterness
  • Hate and enmity
  • Jealousy
  • Quarrelling, insults, accusations and provocations
  • Relationship destruction caused by disagreements
  • Betrayals
  • Backsliding
  • Defensiveness: some build a wall around themselves to protect themselves from further hurt.
  • Diseases
  • Death

What offends people?

What offends people differs from person to person. Factors like spiritual maturity and background of the person comes into play. What offends another person may not offend another one. Therefore do not take people for granted.

Why do offenders offend others?
·         Deliberate
·         Evil heart
·         Lack of respect: honor every person.
·         Some are used by the Devil
·         Some are used by God to try your faith and make you grow.
·         Some are used by other people
·         Background
·         Environment/Situation
·         Selfishness and pride

Responses To Offenses: How Can we Deal with Offences.

Our responses to any offenses determine our future.
·         Humility: pride doesn’t want us to admit that we are heart and offended.
·         Maturity
·         Wisdom
·         Full of the spirit
·         Forgiveness
·         Counseling
·         Full of the Word
·         Bless and love those who offend you (Mt 5:44)
·         Positive attitude: do not focus on the wrong.
·         Prayer and fasting
