FOUR WAYS TO PRODUCE INCOME

YOU WILL GET OUT OF PRISON

And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison ~ Genesis 39:20.

Joseph is put in a prison for a crime he had not committed. The prison has many characteristics which make it an unbearable experience. In a prison you will be bound, oppressed, restricted and in some cases exposed to torture of abusive treatment. We should understand that in a prison your liberties are tampered with and many times you are forced to do things against your will.

Many people who are passing through false accusations feel so much hurt because of the suffering, pain, and injustice they seem to be encountering. It is a prison moment characterized by obscurity and painful and a moment where one feels he has been forgotten for good. Just like Joseph you will feel as if you are felt alone, deserted and defeated without any defence. Some prison terms are quite long, disturbing and distractive.

The prison will make you ask a lot of questions. These questions include: Why me? Where is God in all this? Will I come out of this prison? Why suffer like this? Because of this pondering some people actually died in the prisons of their own lives. While we may not understand why we are in prisons of life, we need to appreciate the moment and learn to trust God. The prison is never meant for you to go down or break you but it can be a preparation for your growth to your destiny.

We need to praise God for our prisons. Do we understand that it is in the prison that Joseph learned some very critical and valuable lessons? The prison is never there to bury us or send us into oblivion. It is a challenging moment but also a preparation for greater moments ahead. The prison moment can be to your benefit in shaping your character for the future.

Great people in the Bible went through and were shaped by prisons. When you read the Bible you will be encouraged by the story of Samson, Daniel, Jeremiah, Hosea, John the Baptist, John, Peter, Paul, and Silas. We are encouraged to understand about the power, glory and providence of God in each case. Never should we be weary when we are going through prison times.

God knows and understand our future and is in the prison which we may be complaining about (Genesis 39:21, Isaiah 43:2, Daniel 3:24-25). The prison moment is in the plan of God. Never be discouraged, your prison may be your way to your palace. For all things we experience in life all things work together for good;
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose ~Rom. 8:28,

WHEN ANGRY, REMEMBER

WHEN ANGRY, REMEMBER….
Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Today I will share with you one of the issues which troubles many people and this is anger. From the above scripture, it seems anger is expected but the caution there is not to sin especially through making the day end with that anger. Why? It is because when you prolong habitation of anger in you, it becomes part of you. Many people have lost opportunities because of anger. At the end when you do an assessment of why you were angry, you will see it was just a small matter. When you are angry remember;
1. Anger is an emotion. It affects your emotional balance.
2. Anger is spiritual, evil, demonic. Anger is a spirit. To prove that check how you feel when angry.
3. Anger has serious self inflicting damages. Some become angry to fix some people when in fact they are fixing themselves. Its like shooting someone with the gun pointing towards yourself. Some are sick because of anger and unfortunately some are dead. Some are in prison because of anger and some in hospital.
4. Anger has a major effect in relationships. Conflicts in families, societies, workplaces, schools are not managed because of angry individuals. Some have divorced because of the problem of anger.
5. Anger should never override our decision making process. Never should it envelop our decision making process or our character. Never make a major decision when you are angry, you will regret. We must not change our character because of anger. Some have changed their language because of anger. Some have preached messages intertwined in anger.
6. Anger must not lead to violence tendencies we see everyday in the world. Reaction to life in anger is not the solution. Let us be proactive.
7. Anger management should not be the focus but rather personal management. When we are able to manage ourselves, anger management becomes easy.
8. Anger is so funny in that when you are angry you think everyone is also angry. Be it known that it may be you only who is angry and others are happy and life goes on. Don’t think ‘we are many’
9. Anger is bad in that some become angry on behalf of others. You will be left with the dirtness of others.
10. Anger is not a solution to anything but it’s actually a problem which increase more problems. It is not the end of problems but beginning of them.
Self Help Questions
1. Is it possible not to be angry
2. Why are you angry today? Is it worthy it?
3. What are you angry at?
4. What actions do you do when angry?
5. What can you do to deal with yourself and anger?
Today choose joy instead of anger. Don’t drown in anger. Future is not ready for angry people.

DEALING WITH THE SPIRIT OF DISTRACTION

DEALING WITH THE SPIRIT OF DISTRACTION
That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? ~ Neh 6:2-3
In life, there are many moments you will get distracted from what you will be doing. Many people have been distracted from their goals, vision or purpose. There are many things in the world which are there to distract you so that you won’t complete your mission.
In the above scripture, we see Sanballat and Geshem trying to distract Nehemiah from the progress he was making. In your case, the distraction can come from any angle. Distractions come to steal your effort, time, concern, concentration on your work or purpose. This can come from the devil, your family members, that chat, that TV program, your spouse, your friends and even yourself. Distractions can also come from challenges, current or past successes, greediness, being power-hungry, evil heart and so on. These are there to take you from your purpose. I won’t be distracted.
It then calls for every person to be ready for these distractions when they come. Some distractions come as of good intention but with bad motives. Below are some of the ways you can do to deal with the spirit of distraction:
1. Be alert (1 Peter 5:8, Mk 8:15, 1 Cor 16:13, Lk 21:32-36): Many people have been caught unaware because of not being alert. Being alert means being vigilant and ready. Distraction can come any time and moment and your physical and spiritual eyes need to be open.
2. Know the schemes of distraction (2 Cor 2:11): As said above some distractions come in a way which you may not think. Some distractions are well packaged. Like Sanballat and Geshem the invitation seemed well but they thought of doing mischief or harm to Nehemiah.
3. Have a formula of response (Prov 4:7): Distractions sometimes need a formula of response. My response must be led by wisdom. Nehemiah sent the messengers with his response. This was wisdom. He didn’t go himself because it was time wasting.
4. Know the value of your project (Mt 13:44-46): Your project, purpose, vision or dream is too big to entertain distractions. Many people leave their purpose because they don’t know the value of their purpose. What you do not value, will not stay with you. In Mt 13:44-46, we see every effort, time and cost put so that one can have what he values. Most Israelites missed Canaan by comparing the value of Canaan with the value of Egypt. They were distracted by the wilderness (Num 11:4)
5. Don’t leave or quit the purpose: Nehemiah continued with the project. Many people do it wrong because they chase the distraction and leave the project or purpose unattended. It is high time we keep our eyes on the ball until the project is done. Do not quit because of the distraction. Move on. The Israelites almost became distracted at Mt Sinai until God had to make a command,
You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance ~ Deut 1:6-7
Today, you have an ultimate decision, don’t quit the purpose because of distractions. The journey is still on.
