CAPACITY TO MATCH YOUR CHALLENGE

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small~ Proverb 24:10

In life, we have to understand that adversities, challenges, trials, crises or problems are bound to come. It is with this sense and understanding that the above passage is coming from. There is a day of adversity, there are days of challenges and hours of trials or crises. That much anyone must understand.

However, it should be noted that in this case the problem being addressed here is not the problem. The problem is not the problem. It is not the problem which makes people faint. The reason is that problems and challenges come to actually test our strength, capacity, faith and stamina. So when one fail when a crisis comes, it has much to do with the capacity or strength one has to sail through the challenge.

Therefore, one thing we must pray for is the capacity to match the challenge or the adversity. However, sometimes it is just applying what the Word says. Scriptures admonish us that when a temptation comes God has already deposited capacity to match such kind of temptation ad a way to escape the temptation;
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it ~ 1 Co:10:13.

God cannot allow you to suffer beyond the capacity you have. Utilise the power in you. There is a power which should work in you according to Ephesians 3:20. Sometimes it is just fear which makes people not to see the capacity in them. Sometimes we look at the problem and not look at the capacity within. Prophet Jeremiah challenges Israel;
If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses?  and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan? ~ Jeremiah 12:5

You have to check your capacity. Capacity makes people to quit too early. Jeremiah teaches us that there are greater challenges which needs a greater capacity. If we fail when smaller capacity is required how would we sail through when the greater challenge comes? I am encouraged by the scriptures that by waiting upon the Lord we renew the strength, capacity and energy in us;
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint~ Isa: 40:31:

We need to look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith (Heb 12:2). Faith is the capacity to withstand adversity. Faith is a component needed by any believer. Capacity and strength for adversity will make you not to break, be distressed and not destroyed because this capacity belongs to God;
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; ~ 2 Co:4:7-9

It is time to soldier on. You will sail through. Do not look at the problem. Do not be carried away by the challenge. There are better days to come. (2 Cor 4:17-18). Shadreck, Misheck and Abednego had confidence in their God. They did allow the king or anything intimidate them. They knew their capacity and strength;
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.  If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up ~             Dan 3:16-18

I pray that the capacity in you matches the challenge coming your way. You will make it. God is able to make you stand the heat.
