REIGNITING KINGDOM BURDEN
IN LEADERSHIP
Ø Hanani and team comes with news of work, news of the
status of Jerusalem. What news do you bring: Only gossip, useless news,
divisions, you bring?
- Great affliction and reproach 2. The walls of
Jerusalem broken 3. The gates burned with fire. The challenges at Israel
district needs Elder Nehemiah.
- Burden: The push that gives you the sense of
commitment, devotion, duty, obligation and responsibility. With burden you
put yourself in the work. You do the work with all heart, all your mind,
all yourself.
- There is no leader who is going to be
successful without a burden, burden is the inner drive for work. Leaders
with a burden they are influential and make impact in their leadership.
- Burden is the thing that differentiates
leaders from each other because effectiveness comes from burden.
- Burden people work even if they don’t see a
benefit or praises. Those with a burden do not complain of God’s work
because it is His work.
- Any great work of God and production through someone begins with a
burden in that someone. What pushes Baba Guti to go around is the burden
he has for souls. What burden do you have?
- Kingdom business calls for people who are burden
bearers, stand in the gap (Ez 22:30)
- A person with a burden will never wait to be
pushed because the burden pushes him. The person with a burden asks kuti
todii, chii chinoda kuitwa sometimes just do what he has seen to be done.
- Leaders without a burden for the things of God must resign. Unobatsirei usina mutoro webasa.
With a burden
leader see:
- What others don’t see: A
leader’s eyes moves into the spiritual realm and see what others don’t
see. Iwe waratidzwa famba nezvawaratidzwa not trying to force people.
(District Vehicle)
- Before others see: Be
always the first to see the need of the projects.
- Ahead of others: It is a shame for any
leader to behind of followers. You can’t be in 2010 when your followers
are in 2019. This is one of the greatest challenges as it causes friction
in kingdom projects and business.
- Beyond others: When followers see in
short term terms, leaders go into the long-term range or mode. Most of
buildings and projects were done by people who saw in the short term.
- Further or bigger than others: When followers see something you see it from another angle and size or magnitude. Quality and excellence work well with leaders who see further than others (sketch of the mission house)
People with
burden
- They
have a push, passion and conviction in themselves (after hearing the news,
a push was created in him)
- They
build relationships (asked the king for permission to go for the walls
restoration. You need people and networking even with your burden)
- They
are spiritual and prayerful people (after the burden, Nehemiah prayed)
- They
are ready to take a risk and are bold (Nehemiah was ready to face the risk
and opposition. Where are the people who can take risks for the Kingdom of
God?)
- They
are geared for initiative action (after hearing the situation, Nehemiah
was pushed for action) As a leader, at times we are not asked, but we are
expected to do it.
- They
are exceptional motivators with a courageous constitution and have
capacity for influence.
What takes burden? (Ps 12:1)
- Personal decision, looking at other people
kuti vachaita when he is also looking kuti nhingi achaita. Imwe nyaya
ndeyekuti caretaker nefinance vachaita.
- Associations: Sometimes munopedzwa simba
neshamwari dzisina kana burden.
- Church politics: Hatina kuvinga politics
takavinga basa: political commisar
- Lack of seriousness: Wamwe wati fambe paburden
yebasa raShe (Hwange deal)
- Offences from other leaders~ Makapedzwa simba
nezvigumbu. You can fix man but not God, maramwira ani basa iri? God can raise
stone.
- Surroundings/environment~ the situation or
place you are in doesn’t promote burden. Pano hapaitwe izvozvo- please
musandipedza simba ndine burden neGlenview.
Ø You used to give your all
when you were at that place. You would say ndofamba netsoka, chero ndapa Mwari,
but these days at GlenView.
Ø You used to walk long
distances but now mota yatove nyaya (Hippo Valley)
Ø Status and position: Those
days musina chunhu commitment was above board but makomborerwa zero. Musati
mave leader zeal yanga yakati ohhhh.
Ø I will not change my burden
commitment nekuti ndave kuWaterfall when I stood with His work in Hwange.
- Challenges and opposition: No more power to
push on (Jm 1:2) For every
burden there is an opposition (Tobiah
and Sanballat). When you have a burden be ready for opposition. There
are always challenges in the work of God. Challenges are the oil of
ministry.
- Sin: sin kills the zeal. Many people they try
to have a burden for the souls for church growth, tithes etc but sin is
hindering. Sin always drag you back.
- Excuses:
- Devil and demonic
attacks
Bad attitudes in burden
·
Giving excuses of not
producing because we are many: Kuchekererana chishandwa. Pamwe chinotorwa nemunhu
one vamwe vakapeta maoko.
·
Not producing to the pastor,
the elder or another leader to fix them. You cannot fix anyone through the work
of God
·
You don’t want to be told
that you are not productive? Every time we are asked or told to be productive
you become angry.
·
Seeing the work of God as an
inconvenience and a burden to your life.
Signs that the burden has gone:
Ø The time, commitment,
concentration, devotion, zeal, energy, effort, and passion we put in our things
in comparison to the same we have put in the Kingdom of God.
Ø No longer participating in
Kingdom business, change of language (criticism and negative), no longer
faithful in matters of the Kingdom (effort, time, giving etc). You are no
longer available VaGaratiya ndiani
akakuroyai? – Gal 3:1
Ø I don’t care attitude-
chero zvazvaita. Hana haichatirimukira zvinhu zvekwaMwari. Chero chegumi
chikadonha no deal, even vatendi vakadzokera sure no deal. Please care for the
work of God.
Ø No more excitement in the
things of God- Leadership without excitement is dangerous (EH Guti). Every time
you want to do the work of God, you feel very low. The push and the drive is
gone. The zeal of thine house has
consumed me ~ John 2:17
- Concern (Asked about the state of affairs: Nehemiah’s body was
in Persia, but his heart and his interest were in Jerusalem (things of
God) – 800 miles away. He wanted to know from those returning how the
people and the city were doing). Do you ever ask about the work of God?
What is the state of affairs? Do you actually ask the state of affairs at
your region?
- Sat down: Pondering, what is next,
what then can we do? Burden eats you up and you ponder the best way to
deal with the situation.
- Wept and mourned: Emotional
attachment to Kingdom business. Have you ever cried and mourned for days?
Zvepasangano penyu zvinochemedza but hamuchemi. It’s business as usual,
not with people of burden.
- Fasted, prayed: Burden
pushes you to pray. You may not have the money but burden pushes you to
pray. God have mercy with my life. God intervene at our assembly, things
must change (Mt 17:21)
- To God of heaven: He has all the solution to the Kingdom business.
Anotikundisa. In the work of God, we need God of the work. NaMwari
panobudika.
