LISTENING

Listening is considered to be the single most important attribute of an effective manager. It is also emphasized in the Bible; Prov. 1:31; 8:34; 12:15; 15:31-32; 19:27; 25:12

Poor listening results in;
  1. misunderstandings
  2. mistakes
  3. jobs that need to be redone
  4. loss of business opportunities
  5. lower employee productivity
  6. unhappy followers
  7. divorce
  8. inability of parents and children to openly communicate

Poor listeners are viewed as impolite, rude, uncivil, ungracious, unresponsive, and insensitive to the needs and feelings of other people, self-centered, disinterested, preoccupied, and socially unacceptable.
